Samsung Galaxy Round and LG G Flex are both curved screen Smartphones offered by the two Korean technology rivals.
This time Samsung and LG both have come up with the curved display Smartphones, but with some noticeable differences. Although, the curved displays aren’t new to us as we’ve seen the vertical bend in Samsung Galaxy Nexus S and the Galaxy Nexus already.Samsung this time launched Galaxy Round where LG brought us the LG G Flex both with curved touchscreen displays.
Samsung Galaxy Round versus LG G Flex
Both the devices have same curved OLED display technology, but LG G Flex has a vertical curved display, while on the Galaxy Round the display bends horizontally. Galaxy Round and G Flex have their own uniqueness, and we are here to put some light on both the devices in this article. So you can see what’s good in there for you.
LG G Flex
Samsung Galaxy Round
|Processor||Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (2.26GHz)||Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (2.3GHz)|
|Display||6-inch with Vertical Curve||5.7-inch with Horizontal Curve|
|Memory and Storage||32GB Storage with 2GB RAM||32GB Storage with 3GB RAM|
|Dimensions||160.5 x 81.6 x 7.9mm, 177g||151.1 x 76.6 7mm, 154g|
Personally speaking, I like LG’s vertical curved display better because it looks smart and is better to use. Also LG’s vertical display has a giant 6 inch screen as compared to Galaxy Round’s 5.7 inches. I don’t like larger display but with a vertical display, I certainly expect more from LG. However, both the cell phones are not easy for a one hand use. The viewing problem of the large displays is compensated by the curves introduced on the screen of both the Smartphones. Galaxy round has an edge in the screen quality because of it’s 386ppi as compared to 245 ppi offered by a 720p resolution of G-Flex. However, G-Flex’s screen quality is still quite impressive and works tremendously for the vertical curved screen.
In case of the user interface, everyone has his own taste and we leave it up to the users to decide which one they prefer the most. In case of the rest of the features, both the cell phones are giving each other a tough time. Where LG G Flex lacks in the processor and RAM speeds, it still has an edge in the front camera and huge battery. The rest of the features are quite alike in both the Smartphones. Samsung Galaxy Round, however, comes with a latest Android 4.3 version as compared to Android 4.2 offered by LG G Flex.
LG G Flex versus Samsung Galaxy Round – Our Verdict
Both the Smartphones are real giants with a powerful muscle. However, LG could have offered better with a 1080p resolution instead of 720p. Still, LG has provided a very competitive product because of the nice vertical curve. The rest depends upon people’s own perspective. UI, and android version are their own choices and we leave it up to them, which one they decide to get a better user satisfaction.
